RAKUGO experience in English - Traditional Japanese comic monologue... and more! -
On the third Tuesday of every month, we are holding an event called "Rakugo experience in English ~Rakugo in English~" where you can enjoy Rakugo in English at CANVAS Lounge.
Rakugo, a traditional Japanese performing art with a history of about 400 years, is a performance performed by a single speaker. The props used are simple, just a folding fan and a tenugui towel, and the charm is that the speaker's movements and facial expressions stir the imagination.
We welcome Sayohime, who has 21 years of experience in English Rakugo. Please enjoy "RAKUGO" not only for those who can listen in English, but also for those who can just enjoy the gestures and facial expressions.

Performer: Sayohime
Influenced by the late Rakugo storyteller Katsura Shijaku, he aspired to become an English Rakugo performer. In 2002, he met Masaaki Yamamoto, the late producer of HOE International English School, who worked with Mr. Edajaku to develop and popularize English rakugo. After gaining oral experience in various parts of Japan and overseas (New York and San Francisco in the United States, New Zealand), she began working as a freelancer in 2008. Many oral presentations including inbound.

Oral presentations for inbound tourists at inns and accommodations in Kyoto City, oral presentations for inbound tourists in partnership with travel agencies
Many appearances at local government international exchange associations
Regular requests at educational institutions such as the Kyoto University International Student Lounge and the AIU High School Diplomat Program
TV appearances etc.
